A 22-year-old man has admitted manslaughter after an incident at a property in Norwich on November 3 last year.
British national Moses Fernandes, of Layer Close, Norwich, appeared at Norwich Crown Court today (8 June 2026) and pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Terry McFadyen by reason of diminished responsibility.
Officers were called to a property in Layer Close by East of England Ambulance at 4.45am on November 3 2025.
When police arrived a man in his 70s with stab wounds was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office post-mortem examination found the cause of death was due to blood loss and hypovolemic shock.
Moses Fernandes was arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre in connection with the incident. He was subsequently charged with murder.
He was originally due to face a trial for murder but following psychiatric evidence, the crown accepted a plea of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Sentencing has been adjourned to 24 September for further reports.
