Two men have admitted to stealing copper cable near Postwick last week.
Officers were called to a premises on Memorial Way, Norwich, on Wednesday 28 January 2026 at approximately 9.15pm, to a report that someone was stealing copper cable. One man in his late teens was arrested shortly after officers arrived at the scene, and a second man in his late teens was arrested following a short chase on foot.
Both men were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and later charged with theft and criminal damage.
Michael Keenan, aged 18, from Wye Road, Walsall appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 January 2026, where he pleaded guilty to both offences. He was sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment and ordered to pay £874 in compensation and fees.
William Keenan, aged 18, from Fleming Road, Walsall, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 January 2026, where he pleaded guilty to both offences. His case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be carried out. Keenan was released on bail with conditions, including an electronically monitored curfew. He is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 31 March 2026.
