Road safety
Issued 17 January 2025
Conduct speed checks in hotspot locations and offer safety education to all road users. Prosecution of speeding and dangerous driving where appropriate. Enforce the Public Space Protection Order where possible and appropriate to tackle vehicle anti-social behaviour.
Road operations have taken place across South Norfolk to target offences made while driving, such as using a mobile phone whilst driving, speeding, and having no insurance.
School visits and patrols have also been done to try and tackle anti-social school parking at drop-off and pick-up times. Joint work with partner agencies to problem solve the issues has been done and continues, which will hopefully decrease the problems reported.
We have been involved with problem solving locations of continued speeding, including collaborating with the Camera Safety Team in terms of areas where they can conduct a risk assessment.
