Our aim is to provide a truly local policing service – communities working together with officers and partner agencies, to identify and deal with issues that matter most to them. Responding to and working closely with our communities solves problems, reduces crime and the fear of crime, and helps build trust and confidence in our service. We work with the community and local partners, while also looking at our own data, to come up with priorities for Wells-next-the-Sea for the next three months. These are currently:
Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) including vehicle related ASB within Wells.Action taken:
Conducted foot and car patrols across key areas, engaging with members of the public and local businesses. This included during the carnival which passed off with any incidents.
There is ongoing partnership work being carried out regarding several properties around Wells due to neighbour related ASB.
Increased patrols have been conducted around Market Lane following reports of off-road motorcycles being ridden on the road by teenagers. These reports have since stopped and no illegal motorcycles were witnessed by Police.

Having reviewed the data and listened to community feedback, the policing priority for Wells and the surrounding area remains as tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB).
Action taken:
A pop-up engagement event where people can come to talk about ASB issues will be held in the car park next to The Maltings on Staithe Street, in Wells-next-the-Sea on 23/09/26 between 16:00 – 17:30
Targeted patrols in key areas where ASB has been identified by both the community and parish councils will be conducted
Partner agencies will be engaged with to address ongoing issues that would benefit from a joined-up approach.
