Cromer

We work with the community and local partners, while also looking at our own data, to come up with priorities for Cromer for the next three months. These are currently:
Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) including vehicle related ASB within Cromer

We will engage with our community and partners to identify areas of concern through our online drop in surgery, engagement events, high visibility patrols and social media.

We are aware of reports of vehicle ASB on Runton Road carpark. To tackle the issue we will be increasing patrols in the area to educate drivers, making use of police powers and the Cromer Public Spaces Protection Order to divert offenders away from further anti-social behaviour.

Speed checks conducted along Runton Road, Cromer and Sheringham. One driver was stopped and spoken to, and another was issued with a section 59 warning.

Two vehicles to be issued with section 59 warnings following reports of vehicle ASB at Mcdonalds Cromer. One of the drivers visited at home to issue the warning, with another to be visited.

An ASB audit on Edinburgh Road was conducted by officers in our Operational Partnership Team and Housing.

Mobile and static patrols of the coastal road from Cromer to Sheringham, and also of Runton Road car park, for any anti-social driving have been conducted, with no issues being noted at the time of checking.

A further breach of the PSPO has been issued in Cromer due to an excessively loud exhaust. We will continue to look into and report any issues raised to us, and work with our partners to tackle vehicle ASB.

Having reviewed the data and listened to community feedback, the policing priority for Cromer and the surrounding area remains as tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB), including vehicle-related ASB within Cromer.

Ongoing work to address the vehicle ASB will continue in partnership with local authorities, and officers recently visited a driver causing issues in the town.

They noticed the vehicle on Cromer High Street on the first day of carnival, when excessive acceleration resulted in loud bangs and pops from the exhaust, disturbing those attending the event.
The vehicle couldn’t be stopped at the time, but officers noted the registration and visited the driver to have a word and serve them with a breach of the Public Spaces Protection Order that is currently in place across Cromer.
