Our aim is to provide a truly local policing service – communities working together with officers and partner agencies, to identify and deal with issues that matter most to them. Responding to and working closely with our communities solves problems, reduces crime and the fear of crime, and helps build trust and confidence in our service. Our approach is shaped by our vision to deliver exceptional policing for the people of Norfolk, by protecting communities, delivering exceptional services, and building and sustaining trust.
We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with priorities that we will have for Dersingham and Gayton for the next three months:
Tackling rural crime and antisocial behaviour across west Norfolk
Issued 04 February 2026
Across Dersingham and Gayton we’re continuing to patrol the rural villages to deter rural crime and prevent antisocial behaviour. We’ve done a number of school visits covering topics including how we can help young people and road safety.
As the weather improves and we start to see more people visiting the area we've been speaking to organisers of events like Tulips for Tapping to ensure everything runs smoothly.
To tackle rural crime we’ve been doing regular patrols along the major roads, visiting vulnerable rural businesses to offer crime prevention advice and speaking to victims of crime.

We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with the priority that we will have for Dersingham & Gayton for the next three months:
Tackling youth and vehicle related anti-social behaviour
Tackling rural and acquisitive crime
Issued 01 May 2026
It's already been a busy start to the summer with events and engagements across the area. As we start to see more visitors we'll also be in the tourist hot-spots helping to provide crime prevention advice. We've visited schools and youth groups too. We're supporting various events around the area including Sandringham Flower Show and the concerts and will also have plans in place ahead of the summer to prevent ASB.
