We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with the priority that we will have for Thorpe St Andrew for the next three months:
Road Safety across Broadland
Issued 18 March 2026
We’ve carried out speed checks Salhouse Rd, Lt Plumstead and Salhouse Rd Wroxham, as well as a road safety operation on the ring road in Thorpe St Andrew.
We’ve also been focussing on inconsiderate driving and parking so have done hi-visibility patrols outside TSA High school, Dussindale Primary School and Hillside Avenue Primary School.
Speed checks were done on 18 April on Plumstead Road and Dussindale Drive, both hotspots for this activity. Words of advice were given to drivers for excess speeding.
Two cars were stopped on Middle Road, Great Plumstead on 19th April following reports of anti-social driving. One car was seized under S.59 Police Reform act, one car was issued with a S.59 warning notice, which lasts for 12 months.
On two evenings in May, joint operations with Broadland District Council to enforce the vehicle ASB related PSPO across the district. Engagement had with vehicle enthusiast groups, as well as constant patrol around the area of the Broadland Business Park, Rackheath Industrial Estate, Thorpe End, Green Lane and the Petans roundabout on the NDR.
A large 50 vehicle plus car meet was disrupted before any ASB could be had, and a car was seized for 10 major defects which made it unsafe for the road.
