Police have charged a man in connection with firearms and drugs offences in Norwich.
Officers were on foot patrol in Norwich city centre on Saturday evening (30 May) and stopped a man on Walpole Gardens at around 6pm. Following a search, officers recovered an imitation firearm, a taser and quantity of cannabis.
Thomas Mayes, 27, of Douro Place, Norwich has subsequently been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place, possession of unloaded firearm with suitable ammunition in a public place and possession of a controlled class B drug (cannabis).
He was released on police bail and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 21 July 2026.
