Sheringham

We work with the community and local partners, while also looking at our own data, to come up with priorities for Sheringham for the next three months. These are currently:
Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) including vehicle related ASB within Sheringham

We are aware of reports of ASB occurring at Sheringham Putting Green, Station Approach. These reports include groups gathering, underage drinking, causing disturbances, vandalism, and littering. In addition, there have been reports of vehicle related ASB across Sheringham, with concerns raised regarding vehicles being driven in an anti social and dangerous manner. We will continue to engage with our local communities and partner agencies to address these issues. We will also listen to concerns raised through our online drop-in surgery, community engagement events, high-visibility patrols, and social media platforms.

A warning has been issued to the owner of an e-bike following reports of it being ridden inappropriately within Sheringham.

A Section 59 Police Reform Act warning has been issued to a driver reported for driving in a careless and inconsiderate manner within Sheringham town centre.

Increased high visibility patrols have been conducted at Sheringham Putting Green, with engagement taking place with nearby residents and businesses.

Continued engagement has taken place through the Sheringham Community Alcohol Partnership, working collaboratively with partners to identify and implement solutions to tackling the harm of underage drinking.

A driver has been issued a Section 59 warning about their manner of driving following an incident. This means that their vehicle will be seized if caught doing ASB within a year.

A visit conducted to one youth suspected as being involved in ASB with ebike in Sheringham and Cromer. Their parents were spoken to and made aware of police powers to seize any vehicle suspected of being used on the road illegally or in anti-social way.

We will continue to monitor the situation, proactively engage with the public and partner organisations, and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary.

Having reviewed the data and listened to community feedback, the policing priority for Sheringham and the surrounding area remains as tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB), including vehicle-related ASB within Sheringham.

Targeted patrols in key areas where ASB has been identified by both the community and parish councils will be conducted.

Partner agencies will be engaged with to address ongoing issues that would benefit from a joined-up approach.
