We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with priorities that we will have for Downham Market for the next three months:
Tackling rural crime and antisocial behaviour across west Norfolk

Downham Market town centre:
- Seizure of e-scooter last month as part of focus to tackle anti-social vehicle use
- Proactive anti-social behaviour patrols in the town centre to target known offenders. Staged intervention letters issued to youths
- Retail theft continues to be a focus for the team – several positive outcomes recently including charges and community resolutions
- 7 proactive stop searches conducted – two of which were positive for drugs.
- Downham Academy whole school input regarding knife crime
- High vis patrols outside of DMA at start and end of school day following reports of anti-social behaviour issues experienced by local residents.
Rural areas of Downham Market SNT:
- Patrols of Wimbotsham woods following report of assault and ongoing vehicle anti-social behaviour (pit bikes and e-bikes)
- visible patrols around Feltwell and Methwold engaging with public
- Regular visits to licensed premises
- Visits conducted with victims of burglary to offer reassurance and crime prevention advice
- Patrols of Hockwold woods following reports of anti-social vehicle use (bikes again)
- Visible patrols of Hilgay following reports of anti-social behaviour and damage to toilets at the Hilgay Churchyard

Continuing to work with partners around tobacco and vape seizures. Lots of visits to local schools and youth groups. We have done lots of rural crime engagements including a young farmers session and have enjoyed attending local fetes with crime prevention advice.
