We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with the priority that we will have for Swaffham for the next three months:
Tackling youth and vehicle related anti-social behaviour
Tackling rural and acquisitive crime

We've been focussing our work on tackling anti-social behaviour across the are - both in the town centre and visiting the villages as often as we can. We have had numerous vehicle stops for vehicle ASB and drink driving.
As the summer break starts we'll be making sure we keep a lid on youth ASB and have been working with communities to explain how to report ASB online.

Tackling rural crime and antisocial behaviour across Swaffham

Our focus in the rural areas around Swaffham and in the surrounding villages has been on preventing crime like commercial burglaries. We’ve been visiting vulnerable locations to help with target hardening and increasing patrols. It was rural crime awareness week recently and so we increased our patrols and visited lots of local farms. The focus is really on preventing the theft of high value machinery and oil/diesel. We've been signposting people to the Secured by Design pages to ensure they have the most effective security in place.
We’ve also been out and about in the villages as often as possible to prevent ASB and educate offenders – whether they be young people or those causing vehicle ASB.
We’ve also attended events when we can get to them to meet as many people as possible and help with crime prevention.
There have been reports of ASB around the Rec and Theatre Street carpark so patrols have increased there in the afternoons and evenings.
