This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
Our aim is to provide a truly local policing service – communities working together with officers and partner agencies, to identify and deal with issues that matter most to them. Responding to and working closely with our communities solves problems, reduces crime and the fear of crime, and helps build trust and confidence in our service. Our approach is shaped by our vision to deliver exceptional policing for the people of Norfolk, by protecting communities, delivering exceptional services, and building and sustaining trust.
We work with the community and local partners, as well as looking at our own data to come up with the priority that we will have for Dereham for the next three months:
Tackling youth and vehicle related anti-social behaviour
Tackling rural and acquisitive crime
Issued 01 May 2026
We've been continuing to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre in particular. A Criminal Behaviour Order has been issued to one man banning him from Dereham for two years after persistent issues.
We carry out regular patrols around the Market Place, Nelson Place and Church Street - especially at school times and in the evenings.
We know there are still concerns and would encourage people to keep reporting in to us when things happen. We are part of the town's new Task Force and appreciate any information and intelligence we can gather from the public.
A man has been charged with five incidents of retail theft in the town. He is due at court in July.
Officers supported a Trading Standards visit to a shop and a man was arrested on suspicion of 'being concerned in the supply' of drugs. He has been bailed for further enquiries.
