A Norwich man has been jailed for a string of offences following a spree across the city.
Vinnie Peach, aged 32, of no fixed address, targeted multiple shops across Norwich to steal laundry products, meat, and chocolate worth almost £1,800.
He was already banned from entering any Co-op in Norwich when he carried out the string of thefts between November last year and February this year - peaking in January.
He appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday 18 June where he was jailed for 16 months.
Peach had previously admitted 11 theft from shops and five breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order imposed by Essex Magistrates’ Court in April 2024.
Whilst in custody he engaged with Operation Converter, the Norfolk unit which further investigates serial offenders suspected of more crimes and admitted a further 10 offences comprising nine theft from shops and one breach of a CBO bringing the total value of goods lost to around £2.265.
These offences were taken into consideration (TIC’d) at court.
Duncan Etchells, staff supervisor for Op Converter said: “Peach is well known across Norwich for his persistent offending both by officers and shop staff. He repeatedly targets stores taking hundred of pounds worth of stock in a single grab showing no regard at all for previous court orders or the impact they have on retailers.
“Hopefully this sentence will serve as the turning point he needs.
"Encouragingly he has indicated a desire to address the drug dependency issues that are fuelling his offending.”
