Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Swaffham yesterday (Monday 15 June 2026).
It happened at 1.47pm on the A1065 Castle Acre Road (near the junction with the A47) and involved a red Kia Picanto and a grey Land Rover Defender towing a trailer.
The road was closed while emergency services, including ambulance, air ambulance and fire, attended.
The driver of the Kia, a man in his 80s, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. A passenger in the same car, a woman in her 80s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition. The driver of the Land Rover did not require hospital treatment.
The road reopened at 11.10pm.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has any information about the manner of driving before the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam footage. Anyone with information should get in touch via the following channels quoting CAD 239 of 15th June.
