Two men have been jailed after launching an unprovoked attack with a knife and a broken bottle in Great Yarmouth.
The three victims all suffered serious injuries and have spoken of the lasting impact on their lives as they continue to recover.
The incident happened in King Street in the early hours of Friday 21 February 2025 when police were called to reports of fighting in the street.
The suspects, who had fled the scene, were arrested within the hour.
Jaidon Mitchell (pictured right) aged 22, of Hitchin Road, Stevenage and Joshua Knight, aged 23 of Caponfield, Welwyn Garden City, were subsequently each charged with three counts of GBH with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and a public order offence whereby they both used or threatened unlawful violence.
They admitted five of the offences and appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday 15 April 2026 where Mitchell, who had the knife, was jailed for nine years and Knight for six years and six months.
In interview they gave no explanation for the apparently motiveless and unprovoked attacks.
In a victim impact statement one of the victims who was stabbed in the legs, eye, and ear as he returned home from work said he lived with "a constant sense of fear and anxiety."
All three said they had been deeply impacted by the traumatic events of 21 February and the shocking suddenness by which their lives had changed at the hands of two men they had never met.
As well as their own issues there had also been a wider destabilising impact on family and friends, as well as a financial burden, they said.
Det con Jodie Cameron said: "This was a shocking and completely unprovoked attack which left three men with serious injuries. Knife crime has devastating consequences for victims and wider family as we have heard in this case. I would like to thank the victims for their bravery and all those who came forward and gave statements which has helped to secure these sentences today."
