Pamela Exall was 22 years old when she disappeared on the evening of 27th August 1974.
Pamela was from Fleet in Hampshire but had been staying at the Digleas Campsite in Snettisham when she went missing. She had been touring the UK with her brother and his friend.
On the evening of 27th August 1974, Pamela went for a walk in the area of the beach at 11pm but did not return.
A major search was undertaken of the area, which included police divers, dog handlers and a RAF helicopter. Despite comprehensive enquiries with all the surrounding campsites and houses Pamela has not been seen or heard of since.
Current progress
Officers traced Pamela’s parents to obtain DNA which remains on the missing persons database.
Several possibilities have been considered for Pamela’s disappearance and one line of enquiry is that she may have become cut off by the tide and drowned; however, officers have kept an open mind and still hope to solve this missing person enquiry.
