A survey supported by partners across Norfolk is being launched today (13 March) to use responses to help create safer spaces.
Organisations including those in policing, councils, health and those who work directly with victims are supporting the survey, devised by police and the Magdalene Group who work in the field of sexual violence and exploitation and coercion.
Detective Superintendent Pippa Hinds, co-chair of the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Group, said: “We would welcome the thoughts of residents, visitors and particularly those who use our night time economy to ensure we are working to make these spaces as safe as possible for all.
“When people commit crimes or behave in an inappropriate way it impacts on everyone and, as such, its ‘everyone’s business’. The survey helps inform what we do as partners to make sure Norwich continues to be a welcoming and safe place.”
This follows the launch of Project Vigilant involving patrols of plain-clothes and uniformed officers who are trained to spot predatory behaviours in the nighttime economy – such as vulnerable women or young people being targeted.
You can fill out the survey here https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/H143B7/ - the deadline for entries is Monday 14 April.
If you have been a victim of domestic or sexual violence, call 999 in an emergency, or report a crime on 101. Further information and support can be found here >>https://www.norfolk.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/daa/domestic-abuse/support-organisations/
