A man has been sentenced after committing a string of burglaries in Norwich.
Wayne Robertson, 46, of Sale Road, Norwich appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday 1 July) after pleading guilty to four counts of burglary.
This follows four incidents which occurred between 27 May 2025 and 1 June 2025.
CCTV captured Robertson entering a café on St Benedict’s Street on 27 May where he is seen to put a mask over his face and take £110 cash from the till.
Robertson was then caught on CCTV on 30 May at a shop on Pottergate where items including a cabinet and scales were stolen.
Cash was also stolen from a restaurant on Magdalen Street on 31 May, and from a takeaway on Upper St Giles on 1 June. Robertson was identified from CCTV for both burglaries.
During his court appearance, Robertson also admitted to a further three burglary offences which were taken into consideration by the court under Operation Converter.
These took place between 31 May 2025 and 1 June 2025 at businesses on Drayton Road, Lower Gate Lane and St Augustine’s.
Robertson was arrested on Wednesday 4 June and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he was later charged and remanded into custody.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (1 July 2025) where he was handed a 40-week prison sentence and ordered to pay £1,110 in compensation.
