A woman who persistently steals from shops has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning her from shops in Great Yarmouth.
Danielle Massen, 44, of Kimberly Terrace, Great Yarmouth appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 29 January 2025) where she was handed the order after she given a 12-month conditional discharge last month (12 December 2024) following a series of shop thefts.
Massen was arrested on 11 December 2024 and later charged for six counts of theft from shop and attempted theft from shop.
These incidents occurred between 24 October-28 November 2024, where Massen stole items such as clothes from two shops on Southtown Road, Great Yarmouth.
The conditions in Massen’s CBO are in place for two years and state that she must not:
Sgt Dan Smith, from the Operational Partnership Team in Great Yarmouth, said: “Norfolk Constabulary will not tolerate criminality and anti-social behaviour in our local communities.
“Individuals who repeatedly and prolifically steal from our shops will not only be subject to criminal prosecution but also enforcement through criminal court orders, which, when breached can result in an arrest and often imprisonment."
