Police have charged a man in connection with two assaults in Thetford which happened in the early hours of yesterday morning (9 January 2025).
This follows an incident at a casino in King Street in Thetford at 12.34am where a man threatened a member of staff, throwing a brick which damaged a wall.
He then approached a woman in the street and hit her over the head with the brick. The victim, in her 20s, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a head injury. She has since been discharged.
Officers arrested a man following the incident and he was taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Owen Coppins , 25, of no fixed abode, has been charged with GBH with intent, assault and criminal damage. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court this morning (10 January 2025).
