Body found - Great Yarmouth

The body of a man has been found in Great Yarmouth.

Officers were called to the town shortly before 10.45am on 31 December 2024 after a member of the public reported returning to a garage he owned in St Mary’s Court, but last visited in May 2023, and discovered a body in a locked annexe off the garage.

The garage is close to where 62-year-old Manuel Pereira was reported missing and, while formal identification is still to take place, the family of Mr Pereira, who was last seen at his home in the early hours of Monday 19 August 2024, have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course and police are treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious. Officers will prepare a file for the coroner.
