Officers from the West Norfolk Operational Partnership Team have closed down a property on Wales Court in Downham Market, following ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour. The team have been working recently to address ongoing concerns around the issues at the address - including drug taking, noise nuisance, offensive language and disruptive behaviour.
Officers attended King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Thursday 13 February to seek a closure order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The closure order has been granted for a period of three months making it a criminal offence for anyone to be inside the property.
Inspector Ben Jarvis, West Norfolk Neighbourhood Inspector said: “The work conducted by the West Norfolk Operational Partnership team in closing down this problematic address underlines how Norfolk Constabulary deal with anti-social behaviour that affects the quality of life of others.
“This order will have a lasting positive impact on people living, working in and visiting Downham Market Town Centre. It serves as a reminder to others committing anti-social behaviour that the police will deal robustly with offenders to prevent people in the local area from being affected by the poor behaviour of the few."
