You may be familiar with ‘Safe Rider’, our police motorcyclist led training course which works to improve your road safety skills and makes you a better rider. As of 2025, this has now been replaced by a national scheme – BikeSafe.
BikeSafe instructors are all Advanced Police motorcyclists. They're among the safest and skilled motorcyclists on our roads.
They'll share advanced police motorcycle riding tips that'll make you a safer and more skilled motorcyclist.
The scheme offers you the same skills as our original Safe Rider course but removes the requirement for an evening theory session alongside a practical session held at the weekend. Instead, you’ll be able to complete your theory and practical session in one day, increasing the opportunity for more riders to complete the course and make Norfolk’s roads safer.
We hope the reduced commitment will increase the number of riders choosing to take the course and allow us to speak to as many motorcyclists as possible.

The course runs between April and October and costs £65. It takes approximately five hours to complete.
