A man from Stalham has been given a prison sentence after a year of disruption and criminal behaviour.
Billy Kilbourn, aged 33, of Allen Meale Way, Stalham appeared at court on 6 September 2024 charged with a range of offences after an incident earlier in the month.
Police had been called on the morning of 4th September to Allen Meale Way, Stalham where a man was reported to be shouting from a window and behaving erratically.
The defendant was arrested at the scene and later charged with four offences:
Kilbourn was held on remand and appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court two days later on 6 September.
While in court, the defendant was also dealt with for outstanding charges including for disqualified driving, breaching a suspended sentence, and for assaulting an emergency worker.
With all of these offences taken into account, Billy Kilbourn was sentenced to a total of 50 weeks in prison, and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
North Norfolk Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Toby Gosden said:
“The defendant’s actions have caused a huge demand to the emergency services over the last year.
“We’ve worked with partner agencies to try and reduce the demand, and offer assistance to Billy to change his behaviour, but sadly the incident on the 4 of September saw him damaging others’ property, carrying weapons in public, and causing fear amongst vulnerable members of the community.
“The court’s sentence is welcomed by the police, and will provide some reassurance to the public in Stalham. We hope that Billy receives the help he needs whilst in prison.”
