A 37-year-old man has been given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order after repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in Great Yarmouth town centre.
Michael McQueen, of no fixed address, appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday 28 October 2024 where he was handed the CBO.
He was also sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to the following offences:
The conditions in McQueen’s CBO state that he must not have an open container of alcohol in a public place. He is also required to engage with the Change Grow Live Norfolk team and their recovery workers, which includes attending appointments with them.
Inspector Andy Tomlinson, from Great Yarmouth’s Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Our main aim is to ensure our town centre is a safe place and obtaining this Criminal Behaviour Order will help in doing that."
"The use of these orders shows we are keen to protect the communities we serve by breaking the pattern of offending by a small number of individuals. We know this will make a real difference to residents and visitors who have been affected by this anti-social behaviour".
