A Wisbech man’s been disqualified from driving for 12 months after being found guilty of drink driving on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border.
Benjamin Pooley, 32, of Mount Drive Wisbech was spotted by Op Moonshot officers on 18 February 2024 just this side of the Wisbech border after they saw he had a tail light out on his van. He was stopped shortly after on Ramnoth Road and during a routine breath test he blew 56 at the roadside and then 54 in custody – the legal limit is 32
He was later charged with drink driving and appeared at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Tuesday 29 October 2024. As well as the disqualification order he was made to pay a fine of £80, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.
Our Op Moonshot officers regularly carry out patrols of the Wisbech/west Norfolk border.
