A woman who persistently causes anti-social behaviour has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning her from the Town Close area in Norwich.
Rebecca Hope, aged 47 and of Music House Lane, Norwich appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday 18 November, after being charged with failing to comply with a Community Protection Notice (CPN).
Hope was arrested on 15 July 2024 after officers found her breaching her CPN, which was handed to her on 8 May 2024, stating that she must not attend Suffolk Square or enter any property within Suffolk Square.
The conditions in Hope’s CBO are in place for two years and state that she must not enter the Town Close region of Norwich.
This conviction comes during Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, which runs from 18-24 November and encourages communities to take a stand against ASB and highlights the actions that those who experience it can take.
Sgt Ali Tassie, from the Operational Partnership Team in Norwich, said: “This CBO demonstrates that Norfolk Police take anti-social behaviour seriously and that we will deal with those who persistently behave in an anti-social manner.
"We hope that this order helps improve the quality of life for the residents of the Town Close ward and encourage people to report anti-social behaviour to us, either by calling Norfolk Police on 101 or reporting it on the Norfolk Police website."
