A woman has been charged with multiple thefts of soft toys worth almost £3000 from garden centres across South Norfolk, Breckland and Broadland.
The seven incidents of shoplifting occurred between 25 July and 23 September 2024 from three different garden centres in Bressingham, Thetford and Wroxham. CCTV footage captured a woman placing soft toys into either her bag or a child’s pram before leaving without making attempts to pay.
Officers arrested a woman yesterday (Tuesday 12 November 2024) in Eye, Suffolk on suspicion of theft and took her to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Ruby Smith, aged 35, of Victoria Hill, Eye, has been charged with seven counts of theft from shops. She was released on bail with conditions and is next due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 31 December 2024.
