Elvis Vickers, 46, appeared at Whitefriars Court this morning (5 November) via video link after being arrested and charged on suspicion of the murder of Abdulkadar Chadli, 48, provisionally named pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings.
A trial date has now been set for 31 March 2025 at Norwich Crown Court. He has been remanded to HMP Norwich until the trial date.
A 46-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were arrested at the scene after officers were called to reports a man has been stabbed at an address in Mousehold Street, Norwich, on Friday 1 November at 10.15pm.
A Home Office post-mortem examination showed preliminary findings indicated the man’s death was consistent with a stab wound to the chest.
The 37-year-old was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and has been released on police bail until January 2025, pending further enquiries.
A police cordon at the Mousehold Street has now been stood down.
Norwich Neighbourhood Inspector Terri Cooper-Barnes, said: “Arrests were made swiftly following a call to the police, and we do understand that this has an impact on the community.
“We have been undertaking visible patrols in the area and that will continue over the coming days. We will continue to work proactively with our partners to address any issues raised within the area.”
