A prolific theft offender has been jailed following a series of shop thefts and breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order.
Hallum Elgood, aged 38 and of no fixed address appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 October 2024 where he pleaded guilty to 8 counts of shop theft and 7 counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.
Between 10 August 2024 and 13 October 2024 Elgood stole items from numerous Co-op stores including those on Hall Road, Lovelace Road and Colman Road.
Over £1,400 worth of items were stolen, including meat, alcohol and laundry products.
Elgood was issued a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from Co-op stores for five years on the 16 August 2024.
He was arrested on 26 October and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and later charged.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 October where he was handed a 12-week prison sentence.
