A man has been sentenced following multiple shoplifting offences in Norwich.
Joseph Sharpe, aged 39 and of no fixed address, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court yesterday (14 May 2024) after pleading guilty to three counts of theft and two counts of trespass with intent to steal.
The thefts occurred on 22 April 2024 when Sharpe entered a business premises at Riverside Retail Park and stole a series of household items and furniture worth approximately £450. He returned again on Wednesday 1 May and targeted a second store at the retail park, stealing £138.54 worth of clothing.
On 12 May, Sharpe entered a business premises on Duke Street, Norwich and attempted to steal a till.
Sharpe was arrested by officers on 13 May and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was later charged with three counts of theft and two counts of trespass with intent to steal.
He was remanded into custody and appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court yesterday (14 May). He was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £154 in compensation.
