Police were called to reports of a concern for safety in Norwich yesterday afternoon (Thursday 28 March 2024).
Officers were called at 3.58pm after a man was seen in the river near Riverside Road.
Emergency services attended the incident including fire, ambulance and air ambulance. A man, aged in his 50s, was recovered from the water but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances. Next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
