Police have charged a man in connection with robbery offences and multiple thefts from shops in the Costessey and Norwich areas.
James Newton, 32, of Jay Gardens, Norwich, has been charged with six thefts from shops between 17 January and 3 March 2024, two counts of robbery taking place on 27 February and 2 March 2024 and a further count of attempted robbery on the same day, possession of a bladed article on 2 March 2024, criminal damage to property on 3 March 2024 and assault by beating on 17 January 2024.
He appeared Norwich Magistrates Court yesterday (4 March) and has been remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 2 April 2024.
