A man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple drug offences.
Brendan Garcia, aged 22 and of St. Albans Way, Thetford was sentenced to five and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to six drugs offences, involving cocaine and cannabis, at an earlier hearing. They included two counts of possession of a class B drug, two counts of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and being concerned in fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on importation of a class B drug.
The sentencing follows a search warrant which was conducted on 9 August 2023 at Garcia’s home address. Officers had intel which suggested he was responsible for running the ‘MK’ drug line. A mobile phone was seized during the search which showed multiple bulk text messages being sent which advertised the sale of drugs.
A second search warrant was conducted at the same address on 5 March 2024. A mobile phone, small amount of cannabis and £500 in cash was seized. The mobile phone provided further evidence of Garcia’s involvement with drug supply, showing he was importing and supplying cannabis on a large scale.
Garcia was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmund’s Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was later charged and remanded into custody.
Garcia was sentenced to five and a half in prison last week (Tuesday 23 July 2024) at Norwich Crown Court.
Investigating Officer PC Edward Crickitt said: “Norfolk Constabulary works hard to disrupt drug lines operating within our county.
“We are dedicated to tackling the issue of drug criminality and will continue to make Norfolk an uncomfortable place for drug dealers to operate.”
