A prolific shoplifter has been jailed following a series of shop thefts in Norwich.
Hallum Elgood, aged 38, and of no fixed address, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday 17 December 2024) where he pleaded guilty to five counts of theft from shops and five counts of breach of Criminal Behaviour Order.
This follows five incidents that occurred between the 4-7 December 2024 where Elgood stole items from Co-op stores on Earlham Green Lane, Colman Road and Lovelace Road, which included meat, laundry products and chocolate.
Elgood was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from Co-op stores in Norwich for five years on Friday 16 August.
These offences were in breach of his CBO.
He was arrested on Waring Road, Norwich on Monday 16 December and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he was later charged.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday 17 December) where he was handed a 16-week prison sentence and ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
