Police are continuing to investigate following a fatal house fire which happened in Norwich yesterday (Thursday 26 December 2024).
Police crime scene investigators and the fire investigation team are at the scene in Carterford Drive, Norwich, today (27 December).
Officers were called to assist fire at 4.22am yesterday following reports of a fire at a residential property where, sadly, a body was discovered. Whilst the investigation remains at an early stage, enquiries to date suggest the person discovered to be a woman in her 70s.
A cordon will remain in place while investigators try to establish the circumstances leading up to the fire and ensure the safety of the building.
The cause of the fire remains unexplained and enquiries are still ongoing.
