A man has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from Co-op stores in Norwich for five years.
Hallum Elgood, aged 38 and of no fixed address appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 August after pleading guilty to six shop thefts.
CCTV captured six incidents that occurred between 31 July 2024 and 6 August 2024, where items including pet products, meat and laundry products were stolen from shops on Earlham Green Lane, Lovelace Road and Colman Road.
Elgood also admitted to a further 11 shop thefts which were taken into consideration by the court under Operation Converter.
These took place between 13 July 2024 and 9 August 2024, in which the Co-op store on Earlham Green Lane was predominantly targeted, with over £1,500 worth of items stolen.
The conditions of his CBO states that he must not enter any East of England Co-op within the area covered by Norwich City Council.
In addition to the CBO, Elgood was given a 16-week prison sentence.
