A prolific theft offender has been jailed following a series of shop thefts, breach of Criminal Behaviour Order and assault.
Carl Westfield, aged 46 and of Earlham Grove, Norwich appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 14 August) where he pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from shop, attempt theft from shop, breach of Criminal Behaviour Order and assault.
Between 22 July and 25 July 2024 Westfield stole items from shops on Earlham Green Lane, Colman Road and Dereham Road, including Co-op, of which he was banned from entering after being issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order on 16 February 2024.
On 23 July 2024 Westfield was witnessed by an off-duty officer attempting to steal from the store and pushed the officer after being challenged.
Westfield was arrested on Tuesday 13 August and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and was later charged by officers.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 14 August and was handed a four-month prison sentence.
