A man has been jailed for drug offences after police found three separate cannabis grows in Thetford.
Around 92 plants were found growing in one room of a two-storey flat in York Way on 24 January this year, with evidence of growing having taken place and been harvested in other rooms.
Officers then went on to discover a similar set-up in the neighbouring flat where 209 plants were found.
Further inquiries then led them to another property in Spindle Drive where cannabis was found growing in every room, some 67 mature plants, and also to Mingay Road where around £10,000 in cash was found.
Large amounts of zip lock cannabis dealer bags were also found.
Paperwork linked Niket Jadhav, aged 41, of Mingay Road, Thetford to all three addresses.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with three counts of being concerned in the production of cannabis, one of possessing criminal property, and one of abstracting electricity.
He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday 27 August 2024 where he was sentenced to four years and three months in jail. He had pleaded guilty to all charges at an earlier hearing.
The set-up was described as organised and sophisticated with Jadhav in ultimate control.
PC Charlie Large said: “Jadhav initially denied his involvement blaming it on tenants but we were able to gather a catalogue of evidence against him which led to his guilty plea.
“Three properties were being used to cultivate cannabis blighting lives and neighbourhoods.
“We hope this sends a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated and would urge anyone who thinks this type of activity could be going on in their street to please contact Norfolk Police.”
Two other people arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis have been released under investigation.
