A man has died after getting into difficulty in the water at Brancaster.
Police were called by HM Coastguard at 1.56pm on Saturday 17 August to reports of a missing person at Brancaster beach. A man in his 70s had been seen entering the water at 1.20pm but did not return.
Officers assisted the Coastguard with the search and the man was found at around 3.15pm (Saturday 17 August). Despite efforts from emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
