Three men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in Colney on Thursday morning (9 November 2023).
The arrests follow a fatal collision between a black Mercedes CLA 200 car and a cyclist on Watton Road, at the junction of Colney Lane, at 5.10am. The cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, a man aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and perverting the course of justice. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
A further two men in their 20s, who were occupants in the vehicle, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice and have been questioned at Wymondham PIC.
All three men have subsequently been bailed.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision or who may have relevant dashcam footage.
