A man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Gorleston.

The arrest comes after police received reports of two burglaries last weekend.

In one incident, during the early hours of Saturday 17 April 2021, a garden shed was broken into on New College Close, and a bike was stolen.

Later in the morning of Saturday 17 April 2021, a man was found removing items from a garden shed. After the man was intercepted by the homeowner, he punched and kicked the homeowner, a man aged in his 60s, before taking his wallet.

On Monday 19 April, a man aged in his 30s was arrested in Gorleston in connection with the incidents, and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was later released on bail for these offences.

Officers continue to investigate these and other similar crimes from the area during the same time period, which at this stage, they believe may be linked.
