Woman released under investigation – Hingham death

Officers investigating the death of a man in Hingham near Wymondham have released a woman who was arrested in connection with the incident.

Shortly after 11.10pm on Thursday 8 June 2017, officers were called by paramedics to an address in Fleeters Hill.

A 70yr old man was treated but later pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem examination has been conducted this afternoon however the cause of death at this time remains unknown. As such, the death is still being treated as unexplained.

A cordon which was placed on the property is now no longer in place. The woman aged in her 50s who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released from custody. However, she still remains under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

Police have launched an investigation following the death of a man in Hingham, near Wymondham.

Officers were called by paramedics to an address in Fleeters Hill last night shortly after 11.10pm.

A man, believed to be aged in his 70s, was treated but later pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will be held in due course.

The property has been sealed off while officers carry out forensic enquiries and a woman in her 50s has been arrested in connection with the incident. She remains in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where she will be questioned later by detectives.

Detective Inspector Stuart Chapman, who has been overseeing initial enquiries, said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and working to establish the sequence of events which led to this man’s death. However, this does appear to be an isolated incident.”
