Three men arrested after cooking oil thefts - Wroxham

Three men have been arrested in relation to a series of incidents where cooking oil has been stolen from public houses.

This follows a number of incidents spanning from October 1 last year (2020) to 28 October this year 2021.

There were around seven thefts of cooking oil, which can be converted into fuel, between October 1 2020 to October 22 this year at The Green Man Pub, Wroxham Road, Rackheath.

Heating oil was also stolen from The Cottage Pub, Thunder Lane, after midnight on 1 September 2021 and 11.30am on 28 October 2021.  Ken’s Fish and Chips Restaurant, Norwich Road in Hoveton, was also targeted on 21 October 2021 with cooking oil being stolen at around 4am in the morning. 

Two men in their 40s and a man in his 30s were arrested in the Wroxham area for theft and going equipped on Friday (5 November 2021).

PC Gareth Nutley said: “As a result of our enquiries, we are aware there may be further incidents of this nature that have not been reported and would urge anyone who has been a victim to come forward.”
