A run to remember
On Saturday 20 February 2016, officers from Norfolk Constabulary embarked on a run across the county raising funds for the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund. Officers and staff of Norfolk Constabulary aim to run 2 miles a day over a 100 day period to complete their target of 200 miles.
Funds raised from the event will be disseminated by the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund to under-21s who tragically lost family members through violent crimes. These funds will be used to help aid the young adults move into employment, education or training.
PC Caroline Whatmore, one of the fundraisers, said: "A death of a family member caused by a violent crime is devastating for anyone. Children and young adults cope with this in a different way to adults and the Memorial Fund will provide the help and support needed to help them rebuild their lives.
"We are close to our target funds and would ask anyone wishing to contribute to visit our just giving page and the charity website to get an idea of the good work they do.”
