Police thank Sundown festivalgoers for following guidance
Norfolk police worked with festival organisers and partner agencies over the weekend to support the thousands of people who attended this year’s Sundown Festival 2021, minimising disruption to local communities as much as possible.
Between the start of the festival on Friday 3 September, and Sunday 5 September, the following arrests took place:
- Two men in their twenties were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs, with intent to supply
- One man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer (no injuries were sustained)
Officers are investigating a number of other reports, as would be expected at a festival of this size, but overall, the large majority of the attendees enjoyed themselves safely.
Chief Inspector Kris Barnard of Norfolk Constabulary said: "It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves, while also following guidance to keep themselves and others safe. Considering thousands of people attended the festival, it was only a very small proportion that chose to act in such a way where an arrest was necessary.”
