Man jailed for sex attacks

A 38-year-old man has been jailed for six years after being found guilty of a string of sexual assaults on women in Norfolk.

Mihai Alistar, of Rostwold Way, Norwich, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday 11 February 2016 by Judge Bate.

Alistar had previously been found guilty of 18 sexual offences including one count of attempted rape during a 15-day trial in December of last year. He was cleared of a further six sexual offences.
The offences took place between 2008 and 2014 and involved attacks on nine victims across the county. The majority of attacks were carried out at care homes where Alistar was employed. The victims were not residents.

Alistar, a Romanian national, was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and will be subject to automatic Home Office deportation provisions on his release.
