Man charged with murder - Shipdham

A man has been charged with murder following an incident in Shipdham on Sunday afternoon (1 August 2021).

Rafal Winiarski, 39, of Lake Close, Shipdham, near Dereham, was arrested following the incident. This evening (Tuesday 3 August 2021) he has been charged with murder and remanded into custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (Wednesday 4 August 2021).

Police were called to concerns for the safety of a woman aged in her 30s at an address in Lake Close at 1.21pm. Emergency services were on scene but, sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after.

Pending formal identification and Coroner’s inquest proceedings, the family of Malgorzata Lechanska has been informed. A Home Office Post Mortem examination has established she died of a severe head injury.

A police cordon remains in place at the address while investigations are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Lewis Craske said: "We are looking for information from anyone who may have known Malgorzata or can help us with information around the circumstances leading up to her death.”

Man remains in custody in connection with Shipdham murder

A man arrested in connection with a murder following an incident in Shipdham remains in custody for questioning as investigations continue.

A man in his 30s from Shipdham, who was arrested on Sunday (1 August 2021) following concerns for the safety of a woman in her 30s at an address in Lake Close at 1.21pm is currently being questioned by detectives at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre. Emergency services were on scene but, sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after.

He remains in custody following extra time granted by Norwich Magistrates Court yesterday (2 August 2021).

Pending formal identification and Coroner’s inquest proceedings, the family of Malgorzata Lewanska has been informed.

A Home Office Post Mortem examination has established she died of a severe head injury.

Man arrested in connection with murder – Shipdham

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with murder following an incident in Shipdham this afternoon (1 August 2021).

Police were called to reports of a concern for safety at an address in Lake Close, Shipdham, near Dereham at 1.21pm today.

Emergency services were on scene but, sadly, a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead by ambulance at 2.18pm.

A man from Shipdham, in his 30s, has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101 quoting CAD 214 of today’s date (1 August 2021).
