Driver dies in A47 collision

Police can confirm one person has died following a crash on the A47 at Blofield this morning. 

Emergency services were called around 7.05am after a Renault had collided with crash barriers on the eastbound carriageway between the Brundall roundabout and the Blofield slip road.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, was treated but sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed while initial investigations were carried out. The eastbound carriageway has since been reopened but the Blofield slip-road remains closed.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information concerning the driving manner of the car prior to the incident.
