Detectives continue to investigate death - Thorpe Market

Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a man following an incident in Thorpe Market two weeks ago.

Officers were called to Station Road shortly before 6pm on Friday 17 September following reports of an altercation near the Suffield Arms.

A man aged in his 50s was taken to the Addenbrookes Hospital by air ambulance with life threatening head injuries. Sadly, he died as a result of his injuries on Thursday 23 September.

The results of a Home Office post-mortem examination concluded the preliminary cause of death was severe head injuries. Further tests will be carried out in due course.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He remains on police bail while officers continue with their investigation.

Detectives have confirmed a man critically injured during an incident in Thorpe Market last week has died.

Police were called to Station Road shortly before 6pm on Friday 17 September following reports of an altercation near the Suffield Arms.

Sadly, a man aged in his 50s who was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance with life threatening head injuries died in hospital yesterday (Thursday 23 Sept).

A Home Office post mortem will be held in due course.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He remains on police bail while officers continue with their investigation.

A man has been arrested following an altercation in Thorpe Market yesterday.

Officers were called to Station Road, close to the Suffield Arms, shortly before 6pm yesterday (Friday 17 September) following reports of an altercation involving two men.

A man aged in his 50s sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance. He remains in hospital.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He remains in custody.

A police cordon at the scene has now been removed. Officers are continuing with their enquiries.
